A few days of Green Turtle

On Monday, we starred our day with some fishing.  Didn't exactly tear it up, but we got enough for dinner.

When we returned, a huge rainstorm came in.  We were all a little relieved to get some forced downtime.  Everyone napped...  The boys slept until dinner!  During some of the napping Gillian and I went to do some snorkeling with Mimi and Brandy relaxed by the beach.

When the boys woke up we relaxed around the house, made dinner and discussed plans for Tuesday.

On Tuesday we decided to hit it a little harder.  We were going to start with some diving/spearfishing in the morning off of the Green Turtle reefs.  On the way out, Oreo (our three legged friend), found us for a quick hello.  Gillian was surprised he made it another year since he "has one foot in the grave".

The diving was phenomenal.  The reef we chose was in 25 feet of water.  At the shallowest point, the reef was only 3 feet into the water.  The drop-offs were amazing.  We saw a lot of fish, including 3 Grouper that narrowly escaped our spearing abilities.  One was about a 15 pounder.

After diving, we headed to Treasure sands for lunch.  It is one of our favorite eating spots.  The food is excellent and the view is spectacular.  The Beach is rated one of the top 10 beaches in the world.

Its not a trip to Treasure Sands without some swimming and pier jumping.

After filling our stomachs and enjoying the beach.. it was time to head out for some Jellowtailing!  We swam back while Mimi and Pappy took the dinghy back to the boat.

We got a few Yellowtail before a big shark showed up.  John caught him for a while, but he prevented us from catching much.

We ended the day exhausted and ready for rest.  Had some burgers, Gillian made some brownies, then it was time for some shut-eye.

On Tuesday the boys woke early for some fishing.  We got some yellow eye and lost a few rigs.    While we were fishing the ladies made a grocery store run.  When we got back they had mentioned a stop at the Wrecking Tree for some of the best conch fritters in the islands.  While John stayed back to snorkel off the beach, Pappy, Charles and I headed for the wrecking tree.

Mmm.. conch fritters to go.. hope they make it home!

We ended the night with fish sangwhiches and Gillian loaded us up with some cookies.

On Wednesday, we fished some, dove some more, and headed to Pig Island.   The diving ended early because a large shark wanted to join our adventure.  The kids had a blast feeding the pigs.
